Scribblings Vol III

Too tired to think straight
to keep up this masquerade
Still, my mask won’t fall,
For I know this pain will fade
and life remains beautiful
(Inspired by #MadVerse prompt Beautiful/Relentless)

Possessed hairdresser!
He profanes people’s manes with
Satanic scissors;
Those with divine hair beware –
Something wicked this way combs…

Quiet golden tides
lap all around the houses
whilst the coast is clear;
Above us, play white horses
but silence reigns in the streets.

Making Fate play chicken –
I’m meeting my future head-on,
Too late to sway my decision,
If you’re with me, better hold on.

Cause I’m not turning back,
And my mind won’t reverse,
Going on the attack –
Better hope Fate breaks first.
(Inspired by #DimpleVerse prompt Collision Course)

Thunderstorm at night
a sleepless sky god grumbles,
tosses and tumbles,
Muttering guttural threats;
No rest for the wicked yet.

Lackadaisical leaves
grow limber
and lithe in the breeze,
As the summer air
makes a Fred Astaire
of every stiff and indifferent tree.
(Inspired by #ShapePoetry prompt ‘Effervescent’)

Pale porcelain face
grown worn and grey
like a faded geisha;
This white idol
stalks the beauty of the night,
exposing herself in repose
above this lusty, lustful earth.
(Inspired by #lionsighs prompt ‘Porcelain Moon’)

The sky’s second eye;
A milky-white orb
blinded by the sun,
Yet she becomes beautiful
round and full
in the light
of distant stars’ eyes.
(Inspired by #storysaturday prompt ‘Moon’)

I love words; both reading and writing them. I've started this site in order to have a depository for all the random ramblings which are continually swirling around my mind. Some of the aforementioned ramblings may be quite serious but the majority probably won't be. I'm a single mother living in Norwich. I'm also autistic. This isn't the defining component of my personality, although it is a significant one, and one which I think has a heavy influence on my writing, which is why I choose to highlight it. I also feel no shame over being autistic and refuse to perceive it as a disability. The way I see it, life is hard work whichever way your brain is wired up. Aside from all things wordy, I also love music. I find it to be an incredible mood enhancer, as well as a great enabler for the imagination. I love all kinds of music, though hard house in particular - as everything in life is better when it's hard... I hope you enjoy my musings and thank you for reading! I can also be found on
