Scribblings Vol II

You play your ukelele daily
but today, you play no more,
Cause that racket drove me crazy
so I grabbed your ukelele
then gaily smashed it on the floor.
(Inspired by #ChocVerse prompt Ukelele)

Silence stalks my mind,
As distant sounds press all around
to crowd my senseless ears –
still ringing with the singing sound
of bitter, listless,
missed and twisted glimpses
of profound ideas.

To heal your blues and
live life to the full,
Remember these words
each time your mood falls:
Be realistic, not pessimistic,
And optimistic, not delusional.
(Inspired by #DimpeVerse prompt ‘Healing Blues’)

A life eternal
Made of moments so fleeting
they last forever –
But clocks cut lives like scissors,
They tick-tock snip rip… then stop.
(Inspired by #MadVerse prompt ‘Death’)

A heart of embers;
But a tender touch is like tinder to
these dying coals…

Returning the fire
to the slow burning desire
of this everlasting, ever-yearning
soul.

The black dwarf:
A baby black hole suckling
On the vacuum of deep space
Cutting its teeth
Til it’s ready to eat
Whatever galaxies come its way.
(Inspired by #microprompt ‘Dwarf’)

Thanks for the strings, but here’s the thing;
My viola gets lonely when I’m out shopping
It says ciao to a cello & it ghosts a guitar;
Can you tell me the number for a baby sitar?

I love words; both reading and writing them. I've started this site in order to have a depository for all the random ramblings which are continually swirling around my mind. Some of the aforementioned ramblings may be quite serious but the majority probably won't be. I'm a single mother living in Norwich. I'm also autistic. This isn't the defining component of my personality, although it is a significant one, and one which I think has a heavy influence on my writing, which is why I choose to highlight it. I also feel no shame over being autistic and refuse to perceive it as a disability. The way I see it, life is hard work whichever way your brain is wired up. Aside from all things wordy, I also love music. I find it to be an incredible mood enhancer, as well as a great enabler for the imagination. I love all kinds of music, though hard house in particular - as everything in life is better when it's hard... I hope you enjoy my musings and thank you for reading!
