Cold as the leather of a leftover glove –
Infertile fields where we once lay our love.
Cruel is the clasp of winter’s embrace,
Chilling the skin of Earth’s famished face.
But hope spring’s eternal and spring brings new growth,
Spreading life through the land and love through us both
‘Til earth’s face is blooming like never before
And our love is flourishing forevermore.
