Wow! That’s What I Call Micropoetry Vol. III

Silken Sable Sheets
Flecked with the dust of heaven
Sheltering the earth
(Inspired by @DimpleVerse Prompt ‘Dusk Light’)

Footsteps slip through midnight’s silence
Closing in from all around,
Death creeps softly through the darkness;
Hush your heart, don’t make a sound.

Dancing without boundaries,
Who cares for choreography?
When there’s perfect synchronicity
Between each sound and my soul.

Wild doves burbling like
Percolating coffee;
Such a civilized sound
To invigorate the day.
(Inspired by #NatureVerse prompt ‘Wild/Civilized)

Trying to write my masterpiece
Whilst o’er keyboard I am haunched
Biscuit fingers coat crummy keys
Stubbornly stuck and stiffly scraunched.

We are all a blend of darkness and light;
Our minds a mix of folly and insight.

Golden sunflower
Rising from the dew-drenched Earth
Scattering cherry-blossom clouds
Across the lavender sky.
(Inspired by #PoemPeriod prompt ‘Blossom’)

I hoped to write more meaningful words,
But then I realized,
If happiness lies in acting absurd –
Why bother being wise?

I love words; both reading and writing them. I've started this site in order to have a depository for all the random ramblings which are continually swirling around my mind. Some of the aforementioned ramblings may be quite serious but the majority probably won't be. I'm a single mother living in Norwich. I'm also autistic. This isn't the defining component of my personality, although it is a significant one, and one which I think has a heavy influence on my writing, which is why I choose to highlight it. I also feel no shame over being autistic and refuse to perceive it as a disability. The way I see it, life is hard work whichever way your brain is wired up. Aside from all things wordy, I also love music. I find it to be an incredible mood enhancer, as well as a great enabler for the imagination. I love all kinds of music, though hard house in particular - as everything in life is better when it's hard... I hope you enjoy my musings and thank you for reading! I can also be found on

    1. Thanks, I’ll probably add them to my Hello Poetry account (which I’ve been shamefully neglecting).
